I was invited to document key locations along historic sites where freedom seekers once traveled in Ohio as they traveled north across the Ohio River in pursuit of freedom.

My role was to capture these spaces for the Freedom Journey App, a historically accurate, GPS-mapped resource created by America’s River Roots in collaboration with the Cincinnati Museum Center and the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center.

Through my lens, I aimed to connect past and present: preserving the significance of museums, hidden landmarks, and community spaces that once served as beacons of courage. The project honors the resilience of Freedom Seekers and the enduring power of place in telling their stories.
